Travel Day One

Dear Anna:

We left Charlotte on August 16 in the wee hours of the morning and arrived in Guangzhou China safely, around 10pm the next day. We checked in to an airport hotel for a night before flying out to your province. We were so tired.....

Travel Day Two

Dear Anna:

We have landed in Fuzhou. All of us are safe and even our luggage. Our guide and the driver was there to meet us. The weather seemed tropical, but it wasn't so bad at all. The air was very clean and the blue sky was very much appreciated. Then we were headed to our hotel that we were going to stay for a week. We were told that our driving time was going to be around 45 minutes.

Well, then our guide said, "your Gotcha day has moved up a day. It's going to be tomorrow". We were stunned. Could someone have told us this bit of information in advance?

After talking to our agency and our guide we finally got our corrected room that we booked and paid for.
But this happened right in the middle of your arrival to our hotel. So, while I was sitting and waiting in the hotel lobby, your dad was moving our stuff(along with the help) to our room. Then I saw you, but I wasn't sure, so I asked our guide, "Is that our daughter?"
I saw you first, then you looked at me. OMG, finally the time has come after all these weeks and months. You looked tired, drained and well, exhausted, after your very first three hour train ride. Your nanny, our guide and I moved to the third floor of our hotel. We were all sitting around and waiting for your dad, I was watching and well, starring at you. You were so small....and so tiny.
Dad entered the room, rather flustered, because he just moved our room for the third time and he was late for about 5 minutes meeting you. But all is well now.
All the paper work, signing copies and copies of papers, was rushed, hurried and it seemed so cold and so mechanical.

Within minutes of signing the paper, you were in our arms. Oh you were so little and tiny I could feel your coccyx on my lap. I can almost wrap my arms around you two and a half times. You were so scared and well, so were we.
