Family Day Two
Dear Anna:
Our first morning together and you are quite and watchful of us. We are watchful of you too, so we can be there for you in every step of the way. Speaking of the steps, the shoes are too big and you trip about every other step, but we are holding on to ya. Everything we brought is too big and they fall off of you. Thank goodness for the dresses we have, at least they HANG on you. Your first clutching toy was a soft squeeze ball that we got from Tar**t. You love animal crackers and like holding onto the box like a purse. Your dad is trying so hard to make you laugh, but you have not smiled for us or for the camera. (what? no smile in a day with strangers?)
Today is the day that we sign and say that "Yes, we will be your parents!"
The photographer took some pictures of us for their booking purposes and signed some more papers. Just like that, with a few pen strokes, we are now a forever family. It seemed so un-emotional and yet it feels like the earth has tilted on its axis.
